Antique Furniture -- Platform Rocker Circa 1890, Nova Scotia. Part of 5 piece parlor set, originally purchased by the Colquhouns of toney River, Pictou Co. Nova Scotia. Hand tooled wood, likely elm, horse hair filled, diamond tuffed. (Original upholstery was replaced in 1980s by Lorne Hedman of TLD Upholstery, Cranbrook, with very similar type fabric) Paired with Platform rocker 2007.025.002
Time and Date Clock Time and Date Clock made by the Wm L. Gilbert Clock Co., Winsted, Conn., USA. 3 hands (brass?), 1 for Hour, 1 for Minute, 1 for date. Standard time printed on front lower window. Ornate pendulum, (brass?), with steel key (wooden handle). Wood case front ornately carved. Wood back with some staining. Admiral notation on back with directions on operating clock, some wear on case.
