Excerpt from introduction: "With a current population of approximately 13,000 people, Cranbrook can expect to become an increasingly important urban centre of the East Kootenay Region of British Columbia. In order to maintain and advance its role as the major trading, tourism, manufacturing, and administration centre of the East Kootenays, the City of Cranbrook wishes to investigate the problems and potentials concerning the present and future development of the Central Business District for long term planning requirements. It is in this context that the City of Cranbrook has requested this study proposal from Acres Consulting Services Limited."
